I spent 3 hours at the Dunlop patch this morning and recorded 38 species including:

  • Dusky and White Browed Woodswallows
  • Rainbow Bee-eaters (hawking and burrowing)
  • Red Backed and Sacred Kingfishers
  • Leaden Flycatcher
  • Trillers (M & F)
  • Hooded Robin (M, F, Imm)
  • Southern Whiteface (in the same groups of trees as Yellow Rumped TBs, Striated Pardalotes [one carrying building material], Superb Wrens),
  • Pallid Cuckoos

Please the usual suspects.

I saw a young raptor– it was developing dark patches on its face – but I couldn’t identify it. Rosemary Blemings thought could have been a young Peregrine.

If you feel the pull of the Dunlop patch take fly repellent (or wear a veil as Rosemary did)!
