After hearing that a Bar-tailed Godwit had been sighted at Kelly'
Swamp by Matt Gilfedder a group of the usual suspects arrived to
search for it. It was not at Kelly's Swamp and many people left to
go to other commitments. Several of us continued to search for it
and I relocated it on a small pond in the paddocks. This is a
location that I subsequently discovered I should not have visited
because it is a restricted access area. Please do not enter without
permission as I mistakenly did. The bird was clearly a juvenile
Bar-tailed Godwit and I hope that it will revisit Kelly's Swamp
during the remainder of its stay.
