A walk around Mulligan's Flat yesterday revealed a pair of little friarbirds along the SE fenceline.  I also saw two white-necked herons at separate dams (perhaps the same bird) and I flushed what I think may have been a sandpiper from the large dam.  As I watched it shoot off, I heard a noise next to me and saw a brown snake only a metre away - my first of the season.  I also saw two echidnas.  One was unaware of my presence and proceeded to waddle down to a dam, drink, half-submerge itself for a few minutes and then waddle off again.

Other highlights were pallid cuckoo, a pair of speckled warblers, a pair of scarlet robins, leaden flycatchers, rufous whistlers, a grey butcherbird, common bronzewings and 4 straw-necked ibis standing in the shade of a large gum tree.
