spent a very pleasant morning at the wetlands - lots of yellow-faced honeyeaters (esp. near Tadorna hide) as well as numerous golden whistlers and many, many red browed finches. but the highlight was a platypus - as I stood on the large wooden bridge watching the swallows one appeared on the surface about 10m from the bridge on Kellys Swamp side (near the dead branches favoured by darters and cormorants). very good views of it until I moved, when it dived and didn't resurface close by in the 15 mins I stood there.
