Hi everyone,
I have noticed since joining the chat line that
many members, and especially, the more experienced members, tend to use initials
to denote the bird species about which they are writing.
While I am a reasonably experienced birdwatcher and
do not generally have difficulty with these acronyms, I am wondering how the
novice members of the group fare in identifying the subject denoted by the
acronym.
May I suggest that initially the name of the bird
be written in full, with the acronym used in the ensuing
text.
Just a thought.
