I saw a Black-chinned Honeyeater on Friday morning (20/7) at about
7:30am at Newline. It was high in the foliage, with some Crested
Shrike-tits, and a Golden Whistler. About half way between the dam
and the concrete bunker.
When I was at CSIRO Black Mt, I spent many lunch hours in the ANBG
over a few years. I have one record from March 2003, but the bulk of
my Bassian Thrush sightings there have been in June-July-August. They
definitely bred there in winter 2003 - a nest was up sort of near
Section 37.
Cheers
Mat

Alastair Smith & I spent a couple of hours this morning at Newline
searching for the Black-chinned Honeyeater without success. Most of the
other usual Newline specialities were present, however - Crested Shrike-tit
(3), Brown Treecreeper (2), Speckled Warbler (4), Peaceful Dove (2),
Southern Whiteface (3), Jacky Winter (1), Brown Goshawk (1), Grey Currawong
(2), etc.
