Like most Hieraaetus eagles around the world, populations of Little Eagle are polychromatic. Appearance is age related and it is possible to circumscribe various morphs but in my experience the boundaries are fuzzy. I wish I had the opportunity to observe large numbers and perhaps maker a bit more sense of the variation. Until then I rely on proportions and form to identify them and enjoy the variety.
