Martin’s email on his trip around the “Molonglo Flood Plain” (otherwise known as the Hoskinstown Plain) prompted me to lodge a brief report on a trip Rhonda and I undertook on Wednesday last which took in Hoskinstown, Forbes Creek and the Tallaganda Forest.  We recorded 40 species for the day with the highlights being Superb Lyrebird (one crossing Lowden Rd and one heard near Main Range Rd); a female Satin Bowerbird at Forbes Creek; a mixed flock of Brown-headed, White-naped and White-eared Honeyeaters also at Forbes Creek; Crested Shrike-tit, Olive Whistler and Golden Whistler in the same tree on Main Range Rd; and Diamond Firetails on Forbes Creek Rd.
