I've just returned from a week in Qld for work.  Last evening in Hervey Bay, the three of us were strolling along the beach at dusk (to dinner!), and walked under a dead branch in the open upon which sat an Osprey, no more than two metres above us.  The bird didn't flinch, even as we gave it a good passing look.
 
Earlier in Brisbane,  I noticed a Peregrine fly past my 26th floor apartment window in the early morning at perhaps a distance of 20 metres. 
 
Sorry these aren't local, but I thought they might possibly be of a little interest.
