This morning two Brown Quail were foraging in the open with Galahs, Crimson and Eastern Rosellas, Crested Pigeons and Starlings in a ploughed field adjacent to Cotter Road, opposite Bibaringa. The quail had based themselves in a patch of rough grassland adjacent to a gully (culvert 2178) and were making regular forays into the field. While two quail were in the field a third flew up the gully. I heard them calling briefly. On the Bibaringa side there were at least 5 Brown Treecreeper, 5 Diamond Firetail and 4 Southern Whiteface.

One wonders if there has been an influx of brown quail into the region following the rain.
