I used to see, regularly, black-shouldered kites hovering over the vacant area along William Slim Drive now occupied by the Belconnen Soccer Club and the new infill housing at McKellar. On Saturday I saw a kite near the intersection of Baldwin and William Slim Drives, along Ginninderra Creek across from the soccer club. I hope this means that the kites have returned to the area.
