We've had close to 150mm of rain in Kambah since New Years Eve and Urambi Hills Nature Reserve is strikingly green at the moment, with a lot of the kangaroo grass (Themeda triandra) very lush and in seed. Just shows the disparity in rainfall with the localised storms in the past 8 weeks; a lot of them dropping rain on the southside but missing the airport region and the northside of Canberra. I rode around Mulligans this morning. It is looking very dry now with barely any grass left. All the migrants seem to have left already. I did find a trio of Hooded Robins, a male Red-capped Robin and a young Jacky Winter though. Most of the mistletoe I found was in flower but there were no honeyeaters, just Noisy Miners.
