I am just back from a 8 day vacation based at McKenzies Beach, by Batemans
Bay, on the NSW South Coast. Daily highlights were:

20 January
McKenzies Beach - massive Lace Monitor living under the house, 2 Sooty
Oystercatchers.

21 January
Barlings Beach - 1 Stubble Quail, 5 Golden-headed Cisticolas (breeding).
Tomago STW - 10 Hardhead, 2 Musk Lorikeets.
Lilli Pilli - 16 White-headed Pigeons (large flock of adults/immatures at
drinking hole), 1 Superb Lyrebird.
McKenzies Beach - 70-100 White-throated Needletails, >5 Fork-tailed Swifts.

22 January
Malua Bay - 1 Square-tailed Kite.

23 January
Malabar Creek & Weir - 1 Eastern Curlew, 1 Swamp Harrier.
Bingi Point (Eurobodalla NP) - 60 White-throated Needletails (feeding on
abundant cicadas low over scrub), 1 Peregrine Falcon.
Grey Rocks (Eurobodalla NP) - 2 White-throated Needletails.

24 January
McKenzies Beach - 20 New Holland Honeyeaters (all in 1 bare tree!).
Joes Ck (Batehaven) - >20 Little Corellas, 1 Royal Spoonbill.
Lilli Pilli - 3 Topknot Pigeons, 1 Black-faced Monarch (probable, heard),
>2 Brown Gerygones.
Broulee - 6 Eastern Whipbirds, 1 Olive-backed Oriole.

25 January
Broulee (spotlighting) - 2 Masked Owls, 2 Greater Gliders (1 white phase
with youngster!), >2 Yellow-bellied Gliders, many Sugar Gliders, 1Tawny
Frogmouth, >3 Fruit Bats (probable Grey-headed, foraging in tall Banksia).
Dunns Creek Rd (spotlighting) - 2 Boobooks, Yellow-bellied Glider (heard),
>2 Sugar Gliders.
Moruya River Estuary - 19 Eastern Curlew, 4 Pied Oystercatchers, >24
Pelicans, 9 White-faced Herons.
Moruya STW - 1 Great Egret, 26 Australian White Ibis, 16 Straw-necked Ibis.
McKenzies Beach - 1 Little Penguin (probable, seen while swimming, leapt
out of water briefly), 1 Blue-tongued Skink.

26 January
McKenzies Beach - 2 Glossy Black-Cockatoos, 1 Grey Goshawk (probable, brief
glimpse).
Tomaga River Estuary - 1 Whimbrel, 2 Eastern Curlew, 2 Great Egret, 1
Caspian Tern.
Moruya Airport - 2 Brown Falcons (1 dark morph, 1 brown morph).
Malua Bay - 1 Figbird (probable, heard, in tree outside servo, couldnt find
it next day).
Percy Davis Drive (flowering eucalypts) - 2 Jacky Winter, >2 Dusky
Woodswallows, 20 White-throated Needletails, >10 Little Lorikeets, 1
Square-tailed Kite, 1 White-cheeked Honeyeater, >4 Varied Sittellas, 1
Sacred Kingfisher.

27 January
Barlings Swamp - 1 Latham's Snipe.
Bateman's Bay STW - 2 Hardhead.
McKenzies Beach - 1 Little Penguin (dead, washed up after storm).
Mogo - 2 Tawny Frogmouths.
Monga NP - 1 Greater Glider, 1 Sugar Glider.
