Hi Nigel,
Yes that is their characteristic courting behaviour
and is very cute to watch and especially nice if it comes so easily to you.
They also compress some feather areas and raise others. I wonder where is home?
I ask because this species has not normally been so happy to be in the
suburbs, although it seems there has been more than the usual of them
about in the last year.
