5 of us had fantastic views of 2 male Black Honeyeaters this morning from about
7.45 until about 9. The young bird appeared first about 50m from the main
track but in the main line of trees. It then moved into or close to THE tree
and was joined by an adult male. Both sat prominently on bare high branches
and then the adult flew into low eucalypts with some dead wood - the views were
superb but, of course, noone had a camera.
No sign of the Little Lorikeets or Trillers. 4 Superbs seen flying; also 3 WB
Wooodswallow; WT Gerygone and Leaden Flycatchers numerous and vocal. Jacky
Winter feeding a young one. 41 species in all with most of the time spent
admiring the Blach HE.
A highlight on the walk back was a large Echidna out and about in search of
food.
