I glanced out at my large eucalyptus Thurs 10am, grabbed the binoculars to investigate the flock of small birds - 9 spotted pardalotes - adults and juveniles with one striated pardalote. Much to the delight of my young visiting niece (3) and nephew (8) we watched them for 5 minutes until a Red Wattle Bird began dive bombing them. (that went down VERY well!)We've had a number of the Striated before but never such a flock of the Spotted. Are mixed flocks common and are they normally here in summer?
