Vacancy - COG Lord Howe Island Tour 17-24 March 2007

Greetings: Due to a cancellation, we have a vacancy for someone (male) to room share with Mark Clayton on this tour in March.  Details are below.  Please email or phone me if interested (6288 7802). Note there is a TV documentary on LHI on SBS tonight at 8pm.

This is a special tour for COG with 3 expert leaders and a focus on a waders scientific project - Chris Hassell from Broom Bird Observatory, COG member and seabird expert Dr Peter Fullagar, as well as LHI naturalist, Ian Hutton.

 

The itinerary will be similar to the Nov 2005 COG tourrip with walks, boat trips, talks, but include the wader study project. Peter and Chris will give lectures on their specialities as well as Ian's LHI ones. Participants will be briefed on the aims of the project, participate under direction of Peter and Chris and be mailed out results of project paper; plus any ongoing reports that follow on will be reported in COG journal each year.  It should be a very full and most interesting week, an opportunity which may not come again.

Return Airfare departing Sydney

7 nights accommodation at Somerset apartments - 1 brm stnd twin/double share (separate bedroom with double bed and a single bed in the large lounge - very comfortable); transfers from the airport to accommodation

Ian Hutton Package

6 x Evening Meals, Museum Dinner/talk night, Glass bottom boat, Round Island boat, 4 Museum slide shows,

North Bay day (birds and snorkeling etc).

Cost Per Person $2550.00  inclusive of taxes.  Tour payment is due 20 January.

 

Not Included: travel Canberra/Sydney/Canberra (you organise this yourself), breakfasts and lunches (self cater); Ian usually provides a barbecue lunch on the North Bay day.
