I rode around Mulligans and Goorooyarroo yesterday afternoon between 6-8pm.
Numbers of Superb Parrots have grown since a few days a go with at least 60
vocal and restless birds by the large dam at Mulligans at 8pm. Earlier I
had found some 7 birds in Goorooyarroo. Little Lorikeets heard in both
reserves. I bumped into Stuart Harris who told me the Black H/eaters were
still present.
The highlight was a family(?) group of 4 Red-capped Robins which included a
begging juvenile bird being fed by its mother.
In Gooroo I found 2 busy Grey Butcherbird parents with 3 youngsters, a dark
morph Brown Falcon,a Hobby and a Brown Goshawk. In Mulligans birds
included unusually a flock of 30 Little Ravens, 3 Little Friarbirds, 2
Little Corellas, a Pallid Cuckoo as well as an Echidna.
Cheers
Marnix
