My recollections are in complete accord with Jack Holland's with regard to the former glory of Lake Tuggeranong. I'm sure we both remember the era when the point Hut Crossing Silt Trap was a venue not to be overlooked.

The presence of Singing Bushlark and Brown Songlark adjacent to Coppin's Crossing Road has largely been overlooked. This area is definitely less reliable from season to season than the area formerly known as Lake Tuggeranong but these species have been present more often than not over the 15 years that I have been monitoring it.

Another area in which these two species occur regularly is just north of Tidbinbilla in the paddocks on the western side of Pierce's Creek.
