For those who don’t know, our esteemed colleague Ian Fraser was awarded the prestigious Australian Natural History Medallion at an award ceremony in Melbourne last Wednesday. The medal is awarded each year by the Field Naturalist’s Club of Victoria’s to “the person judged to have made the most meritorious contribution to the understanding of Australian Natural History.” Congratulations, Ian – from two who have learnt heaps as a result of your boundless knowledge and enthusiasm.

(We are prompted to make this posting because Ian is much too modest and self-effacing to tell anyone about this himself).
