I spent some 4 hours on Sunday morning covering most of Goorooyarroo
Reserve by bike. A lot of migrants seem to be missing. The only
woodswallows were 3 Dusky Woodswallows along an eroded gully by Dunnarts
Flat. I heard several Pallid Cuckoos calling and found a nesting pair of
Leaden Flycatchers but found no Trillers, Orioles or other cuckoos. Near
one small dam were a White-necked Heron and a Little Corella. The highlight
of the ride was a hotspot along McKeahnie's Track with a male and female
Crested Shrike-tit and Speckled Warbler. Many eucalypts were in flower
especially Yellow Box. Rufous Whistlers and both Western and White-throated
Gerygones were abundant in addition to the many Mistletoebirds. I also saw
no raptors in the reserve all morning.
Cheers
Marnix
