Hi All,
I am fortunate that I have behind my home the saddle between Mts
Majura and Ainslie,of late I have been running up there in the late
afternoon, and have been pleasantly surprised by the Raptors seen playing in
the thermal that it would seem exists above the Northern end of the top
plateau....on Sunday 27/8 there was quite amazingly a White Breasted Sea
Eagle,on Tuesday 29/8 an immature rather scruffy Brown Falcon on Wednesday
30/8 a single second or third year Wedge Tail Eagle and today Friday 1/9 a
Peregrine Falcon...considering that the only raptors to be seen generally
are the resident Brown Goshawks and those on an extremely desultory basis I
think it indicates some major movement of raptors at this time of
year.....Terry Gourlay.
