At 10:00 am on Saturday there was a flock of some 80 (conservative count) Straw-necked Ibis soaring on high over the Parkwood Industrial Estate. A little further down Parkwood Road, outside the gate to the Ginninderra Falls property, I glimpsed what I believe may have been a pair of Brown Song Larks perched on a fence. I didn't have binoculars with me and, as I demounted the vehicle, they flew off. I've never seen Brown Song Larks in the ACT before, but had many good views of them (using binoculars) near a little place called Galore, 64km west of Wagga, during the spring of '05.
