Hi Bob,
Good points, yes I "forgot" that one, although I
think the size difference is obvious. Yet you have hit on something really
important. Perched Brown Falcons in any situation nearly always look scruffy,
their feathers are quite loose. Few other raptors characteristically come close
to looking as unkempt. In contrast, Black Falcons and Kestrels (the most
confusable ones to the Brown Falcon when perched) usually look neat and slim but
"all puffed up on a cold winter morning" the distinction could be
lost.
As for your word help, very good, I've not heard of
that one.
