Monday was not a day to expect good birding, but a hike up Mt Painter was rewarded with a White-bellied Sea-Eagle riding the westerlies over the summit. The resident magpies soon saw it off in the direction of the Molonglo valley. Also a Western Gerygone and immature Crescent honeyeater in the plantings on the lee side of the mount.
