Greetings: On the COG field trip in the Molonglo Valley today, a pair of White-fronted Chats was recorded at the corner of Uriarra and Coppings Crossing Roads.  This is near the construction area gate for the new Deeks park, below Mt Stromlo.  The birds were sitting on fences on both sides of Uriarra road, and feeding on the ground in the sparsely grassed paddock on the NE of that corner.

You can park in the layby area on the southern side of Uriarra Road, but do take care when crossing the road - there was lots of traffic today. If you stand on the southern side of Uriarra Road at the corner, looking north with new Deeks park and Mt Stromlo behind you, its the paddock opposite on the right side of the corner where the birds were feeding in the grass.

cheers
Jenny
