This morning I had a Jacky Winter in a mixed species flock with 13 Yellow-rumped Thornbills and a female Flame Robin along Tsoulias Street in Gungahlin. This is only 2 blocks from my new place.
It was amazing to watch the FR and JW flit from frontyard to frontyard in suburbia perching on mail boxes. 12 months ago this area would have been undeveloped.
All this on returning from our walk to Mulligans Flat where there wasnt much bird activity apart from the raptors - 1 dark morph Little Eagle, 1 Kestrel and 1 dark phase Brown Falcon
.
Cheers
Marnix
