A few casual snaps from the south side of Callum Brae this morning.  At times there were few birds but this soon changed when one caught up with the extensive mixed feeding flocks, typically based on about 30 each of Buff-rumped and Yellow-rumped Thornbills – counting weebills, pardalotes etc at least a hundred birds in a flock.  An unusual sight was the flocks of sittellas feeding on small saplings down to ground level.  On Monday, Shaun Bagley and I had found an unseasonal male Rufous Whistler, and 13 Diamond Firetails, but the latter seemed to have drifted elsewhere by today.
