Hi Canberra birders,
I haven't seen much posted on the honeyeater migration through the
ACT over the past few weeks. Here in Katoomba (Blue Mountains, west
of Sydney), I've been getting the most spectacular numbers I've ever
seen, with counts of around 6000-7000 per hour going over my house on
some days. It appears to be winding down now.
I've been busy building a website on birds and birding in the Blue
Mountains and while it's still far from complete, I have already
posted quite a lot of information on the honeyeater migration,
including a "Migration Blog". It's at:
http://www.lisp.com.au/~origma. There are also downloadable bird
lists for the Blue Mountains and the Capertee Valley. Lots more to
come.
I'm looking into getting a domain name so the above address is likely
to change in the near future. I'll let you know when that happens.
I'd be interested in comments/feedback, both on the website and the
honeyeater migration through Canberra.
cheers
Carol
