At the weekend Noela and I went for a stroll along the
Camel Back fire trail - perhaps more accurately
referred to now as the Camel Back Highway - to Pierces
Trig. Not much bird life in both abundance and species
diversity terms. I got a Big Fright from a Brown Snake
that I very nearly stepped on!

The highlight was a Spotted Quail-thrush (just one),
my first in the areas burned in Jan 03. Interestingly
and amusingly it ran along the road in front of us for
about 200 metres before flying off into the regrowth.
