I had 3 immature Golden Whistlers in my garden at Macquarie early on Sunday
morning (2 April).

I then went on the East Basin/Molonglo boat cruise (thank you to Jack Holland
for organising) and got some good photos of nesting darters and cormorants. A
highlight was an adult sea eagle - I note from other reports that what is
probably the same bird has been hanging around the Lake Burley Griffin area for
a few days.

On to the Jerra Wetlands - about 30 Pink-ears at FSP which is an increase in
numbers over the last couple of weeks. About 10 Chestnut Teal, too.

Then, shortly before dusk, in my front yard at Macquarie, a female Collared
Sparrowhawk caught an Indian Mynah and spent about 15 minutes eating it while I
watched it through my lounge room window, with my feet up and a glass of wine
in my hand - that's what I call Sunday birding ;)

Regards
Frank
