Hi All,

I have just posted a box of my new (2006) third edition (if you include the 18 year report), now improved and slightly updated (from the yellow cover edition) "Canberra Birds: A Report on the first 21 years of the Garden Bird Survey", to Europe. Our GBS and the fact that someone bothered to compile, analyse and publish a report on it is achieving great response from around the world (and Australia). There is a conference on urban bird study in Europe later in the year and hopefully clubs all around the place will be following COG's survey design and have a ready made protocol on how it works. I have also written a review of a new 450 page book "Birds in European Cities", which is a reference that Australian city-bird-students could do well to look at (though it has lots of room for improvement).
