I decided to do a bird count today between 12.45-2.30pm at the following locations:

Kelly's Swamp (now 99% dry!)
  • 2 Latham's Snipe in Crake Alley
  • 1 Spotless Crake in Crake Alley
  • 1 Royal Spoonbill
  • 19 Black-fronted Dotterels
  • 5 White-faced Herons
  • 4 Masked Lapwings
  • 8 Purple Swamphens
  • 2 Golden-headed Cisticolas
  • 2 Dusky Moorhens
  • several Reed-Warblers and no ducks

Jerrabomberra Creek
  • 1 Dollarbird
  • Rufous Whistler

Fyshwick STW
  • 1 Little Eagle (pale morph)
  • 6 Blue-billed Ducks
  • 4 Black Swans
  • 39 Pink-eared Ducks
  • 42 Australasian Shovelers
  • 60 Hoary-headed Grebes
  • 3 Australasian Grebes
  • 34 Hardheads
  • 50 Grey Teal
  • 16 Pacific Black Ducks
  • 67 Eurasian Coots
  • 8 Dusky Moorhens
  • 5 Purple Swamphens
  • 4 Chestnut Teal
