There was actually a pair of the rails. From the right-hand side of the
Cygnus hide look over the wooden posts. There is a green patch of reeds
with dry reeds to either side. The main popping out point was the left-hand
(southern) dry patch. This low-grade pic was taken from there over the
width of the pond
