There is a problem in QLD where many Masked Lapwings nest on flat roofs and often the chicks will run around the roof and sometimes run right off to their demise.  The roof heights vary from single storey dwellings to multi storey buildings.

A Masked Lapwing standing (upright!) on the roof of the Jamison Hotel.

PS I feel a Geoffrey Dabb postcard coming on.
