You need to sharpen your quill once more, I fear. Today's CT (Times2, p.4-5) covers the same story in more detail and includes the following fascinating snippet: "One bird, the Swiss parrot, is actually now threatened" (p.4, col. 2). (I think they're referring to the Swift Parrot.)

You had a pleasing front page article (CT 5/11/2005) about the finding of antique and very nice paintings by First Fleet artist George Raper. Unfortunately you got the wrong caption on "Regal: A king parrot...". The bird in the picture is a female Glossy Black-Cockatoo. The King-Parrot is a quite different looking red and green bird and a common Canberra resident.
