Sadly, the jacky winter's nest at Newline had been predated when we visited there yesterday afternoon. Parent birds were seen but no sign of fledglings. Two kookaburras flew away from the area and there were currawngs about. Perhaps they will nest again, hopefully choosing a less exposed site.
