A friend told me today that about 10 days ago he encountered a peregrine in the grounds of the Watson Arts Centre in Aspinall Street, Watson. The peregrine was feeding on a duck, which it had presumably just caught – I don’t know much about them, but don’t think they scavenge, do they?  My friend was very close, less than 3 metres away before the falcon took off carrying the remains of the duck, up into a tree.

What sort of range do peregrine’s have, and could we expect to see it again in the same area, especially as there is a large pond with ducks on it just over the back fence?
