I'm very pleased to report that the rufous songlark is back again this spring at the very NW end of Cooleman Ridge (and quite a bit earlier than last year).  Heard a bird about 50 W of the dam at the end of Kathner St Chapman on Saturday morning, and confirmed it this morning, with a bird calling and flying very actively in this area.

Also present are at least 2 pairs of dusky woodswallow.  They've been round for at least a few days (again earlier than last year) with one pair already having built a nest in a typical spot in amongst bark on the side of stump that's covered with suckers regenerating after the Jan 2003 fire.
