After the woodlands survey on
Sunday I hadn’t had enough birding so I headed up the West side of
Mulligans.
Saw some interesting birds. One
flock/family of 8 brown headed honeyeaters. 3 separate OB orioles, 1 pallid cuckoo calling (I
saw), 1 fantailed cuckoo, a pair of speckled warblers, 2 pairs of grey
butcherbirds, and the highlight a male leaden flycatcher. Lots of the other
usuals, including both gerygones and rufous whistlers, although no
robins.
Plants in flower were mainly
early nancies, acacia buxifolia finishing, cryptandra near the entrance and urn
heath and lots of gums possibly
E.dives.
So
it was a great day, our group earlier also saw 2 other speckled warblers, one
flushed from a probable nest, grey currawong, 4 common
bronzewings.
Thanks
Jenny, for the day.
