G'day All,
A friend directed me to this Crested Pigeon that is in the ADFA
environs. It was there all last week and I took these photos on
Thursday. I dropped past ADFA on the way to work this morning and the
pigeon was still there. It is mixing with normal Crested Pigeons and I
have always seen it in close association. Main areas where I have seen
it are on the ovals off Addison Road, Campbell Park and in the open
areas of the NW portion of ADFA along Kapyong Road.
It has no bands and is as wary as the other pigeons, so I don't
think it is an escapee. Despite the eyes appearing red like an albino it
is in fact the pink skin around the eye standing out. Iris etc are
normal colour when viewed through my binos. Just my poor old digital
camera does not have the resolution necessary to make it look any
clearer. I am sure someone will get better photos.
