Still on the subject of aberrant plumage, on page 37 of Australian Birds by Peter Slater there is a reproduction of a painting showing a gynandromorph Gouldian Finch Erythrura gouldiae. One side of the bird is female, the other male and the split down the hi-diddle-diddle appears perfect.
