Traveling back to
Canberra today I took the opportunity to revisit the two Mallee Fowl mounds
inspected during COG's Easter campout. In spite of the recent rains both mounds
appeared untended.
At the "Glossy Black
Dam" I spoke to a forest ranger on his daily rounds. He said he had only seen 1
Mallee Fowl in the last 6 months and knew of of no active mounds.
Twelve kilometers
from Cowra on the Boorowa Rd we saw a flock of cockatiels.
Regards
Peter
