Noela and I observed a Fan-tailed Cuckoo at
Jerrabomberra wetlands this morning.

According to 'The Birds of Canberra Gardens', few are
reported in July but the number increases markedly in
August. So this may have been an over-wintering bird
or, alternatively, an early arrival.
