Yes this behaviour is curious but the Spotted Pardalote nests in burrows in the ground so most likely they are looking for food or responding to reflections. Tony doesn't say if it is an enclosed or an open garage. Is it possible the bird got into the garage accidentally and was looking for a way out or is that too obvious?
