Last year in Pearce I noticed a raven flying with a golf ball. A couple of
days later possibly the same raven carefully buried a golf ball in a section of
street gutter that was full of leaves... not sure whether it ever managed to
crack the golf ball and reveal the delicacies within though

Subject: Australian Raven food caching
A few minutes ago, I observed an Australian Raven outside my office
window (Russell, ACT.) It caught my eye because it appeared to be
carrying a small egg in its beak.
I expected it to break open the egg and eat it; instead, it flew
down to the ground, carefully pushed the egg into the crushed scoria
and covered it, then placed a stone on top presumably as a marker.
I hope its memory is better than mine, because I'm now not sure
which of the various stones on the ground is the "X".
