Subject: | [UNCLASSIFIED] Brown Quail at Ginninderra Peninsula |

I went to see the brown quail last Sunday
afternoon.
I couldnt find them.
But did walk around the peninsula and saw 5 dusky
woodswallows, which were surprisingly quiet.
Also saw about 20 redbrowed finches, and 5 double barred
finches.
A black headed falcon, possibly a peregrine by its
behaviour diving and gliding, also flew over 3 times.

were 12 brown quail at the eastern Diddams Close picnic ground. They were not
there when we arrived at 9.30 but at 10.30 when we got back to the area
they were clustered right on the edge of the mown area about 30 meters left of
the toilets. Over the next 10 minutes they they spread out over the mown area
and appeared to be favoring a brown ground creeper growing amongst the
grass.
The Dusky
Woodswallows have wisely left during the last week.
