It's really good news that the RHE is still on campus. Tom Green and I watched it for ten minutes or more last evening (19 April) in the E. viminalis (?) on the western side of RSC. It then flew some distance in a NE direction and seemed to be going outside the ANU campus. Unless there is more than one bird involved (an exciting thought), David Wilson's report means it has flown back to where it was three days ago. It might be settling in for the semester! The only other RHE I have seen was on the UC campus some 6 or 7 years ago. Perhaps it is the same bird and it merely deferred its studies. David Rosalky Deakin |
