BarbaraI think it was you I was taking to about being unable to use my copy of Simpson & Day's Birds of Australia cd as it failed to work after an unrelated update on my computer. I followed up with the supplier but got little help. However I just had an occasion to try the cd again and find it now works with the xp update. Computers never cease to amaze me - great when they work.Thanks to a suggestion by Steve Holliday I now believe the short shrill night call is an Owlet Nightjar.
