Tuesday after work I went to Lake Ginninderra. Didnt see the Californian quail, but saw a juvenile Horschfields cuckoo. I think it has been mentioned before on the list. It was very grey and I thought maybe a black eared cuckoo, but when it landed on the beach I got good views of the chestnut edged tail and when on a branch the faintly barred flanks. Lots of ducky woodswallow immatures feeding on the ground.

At Kellys swamp Wednesday arvo I saw a spotless crake in the channel. Also am 80% sure I saw a Baillons crake at the Bittern hide reeds crake area. It could have been an Australian spotted, it was on dusk.

Also saw double bars, goldfinch, and 1000 starlings sitting on powerlines, shoulder to shoulder before heading into the bittern reeds to sleep. 2 Australian shelducks, about 12 pairs of shovelers and a couple of pink ears. 27 pelicans.

Also a little eagle flew over me. Also saw a possible whistling kite but didn't get a good view.
